- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Experience developing infrastructure in a cloud environment (AWS/Google/Azure)
- Experience with developing infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation
- Experience with orchestration of containerized services (Kubernetes/Nomad)
- Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio
- Experience with containerizing services (Docker/Podman)
- Experience with microservices and engineering best practices
- Experience with Python and Bash scripting
- Proficient with relational databases (MySQL/Postgres/Similar)
- Proficient with NoSQL databases (MongoDB/RethinkDB/Similar)
- Proficient with languages such as Javascript/Typescript, Python, and/or PHP
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- In this role, the DevOps (AWS) Engineer will help continue to build functional systems that improve end user experience
- The DevOps (AWS) Engineer will be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet customers' needs
- Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
- Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
- Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and 'fixes'
- Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
- Planning out technical aspects of projects and being involved in project management decisions including researching and recommending strategies and solutions
- Deploy updates and fixes
- Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
- Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
- Perform root cause analysis for production errors
- Investigate and resolve technical issues
- Develop scripts to automate visualization
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
- Provide Level 2 technical support
